CT FEST 2011 - A Focussed Success!!

CT FEST 2011 was a great success with a series of interesting speakers, fascinating sessions and product launches thereby inviting participation from the major players of the radiology segment

The field of Computed Tomography (CT) continues to grow, both in clinical applications and technology. The pace at which the CT technology is advancing is noteworthy.

CT FEST 2011, an exclusive quality educational event focussed on chest and abdominal CT imaging concluded recently at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai. It was a well attended and successful event organised by MSBIRIA in association with Sanrad.

After many successful initiatives of ULTRAFEST in Mumbai, the MSBIRIA team conceived the CT FEST 2011 which was a positive step considering the developments in the field of CT scanners.

The event was graced by internationally acclaimed speakers like, Dr Klaus Irion from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, UK who spoke on emphysema and cystic lung disease, Dr Maoulay Meziane from Cleveland Clinic who spoke on lung cancer, Dr Dushyant Sahani from Harvard University who spoke on CT abdomen, Dr Amarnath Sortur from Wilmington who spoke on Dual source CT, Dr Micheal Hallowell who spoke on MDCT of hepatic tumours , Dr Sapna Puppala, Dr Arjun Kalyanpur and D. Pradeep Bhambhvani

Apart from that, the radiology quiz conducted by Dr Hemant Telkar was a very impressive session using the electronic voting pads. All the delegates expressed their sincere praise on the high standards and superb conduct of the Sanrad Quiz. The winner was presented with an IPAD-2.

The Christmas Eve party was also a remarkable event with senior radiologists viz, Dr Michael Hallowell, Dr Kedar Bhate, Dr Ravi Elango, Dr Harshad Mehta, Dr Avinash Kelkar, and many more delegates dancing and singing to the tunes of a live orchestra.

Dr B Kitture, Senior Radiologist from Kolhapur remarked, “The CT FEST was an excellent event and the lecture sessions were very helpful, and we are keenly looking forward to such programmes in the future”

The participation of trade was noteworthy with GE, Philips, Siemens, Fuji, etc.

Sanrad launched their new helium-less, super-conducting 1.5 T MRI with Japanese technology at the event.

While commenting on the success and tremendous response, Ratish Nair, CEO of Sanrad commented. “It was the organisational skills of Dr Sanjeev Mani, Dr Shailesh Singh, Dr Jignesh Thakkar, Dr Deepak Patkar, and other team members of MSBIRIA alongwith the international faculty which made CT FEST 2011 a grand success”.
